Three words “I Love Him” given in a statement to the media seemed to confirm what some fans of The Twilight Saga believe despite the fact that the relationship between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart was not confirmed until July 25, 2012. That confirmation came from one person, Kristen Stewart. Kristen, you did jeopardize the one thing you respect the most: Your career.

The relationship between Edward Cullen and Bella Swan is one of triumph over tragedy. It also appears to be a relationship that passionate fans of the Saga cannot get enough of, in fantasy or reality. Recently, I purchased a book called Bitten By Twilight: Youth Culture, Media, and the Vampire Franchise because I find it interesting how works of fiction can have a profound impact on the daily lives of people. I plan on writing about each chapter in the book at later dates but first I wanted to start with Chapter 13.

It’s no secret the Twilight saga has had some issues in the wardrobe, hair and make-up department. Now to some this may seem rather trivial. Yet, something as subtle as a bad wig can ruin or make a dramatic scene comical. A successful costume design is one that enhances an actor’s performance and aids in telling the story. The Twilight franchise produced five films in all. Beginning with Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn: Part 1 and Breaking Dawn: Part 2. All these films were told from Bella Swan’s perspective, which dictated the “magical realism” (depiction of subjects as they appear in everyday life) production and costume design for these films. In this article we will try to understand if wardrobe, hair and make-up could have helped or hindered the critical credibility of the Twilight films.

There is a difference in acting styles and professionalism between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Rob was involved in amateur theater at the Barnes Theater Company; his role in Tess of D’auberville, got him noticed by a professional in the industry and after that he started looking for professional roles.
Kristen’s family was already in the business and she began her acting career at the age of eight after an agent saw her in a school Christmas play. To my knowledge she has never had any formal training in acting. Continue reading
