    I guess OB,

By far what I liked the most about the recent film “the Great Gatsby” was the production design. All those incredible panoramas, vistas, and landscapes all sumptuously rendered in the finest digital detail –all were a wonders to behold. Though Toby and Leonardo must be very experienced with this film craft, I imagine Carrie Mulligan and Joel Edgerton must have been awed by the process also.

I know you preferred the original, but would you elaborate, on what contemporary audiences lost (if at all) in the process.

No! Let me clarify. The latest Great Gatsby I loved the production design and the stylization of Baz L. he really captures the books visuals the best. Also the acting was better than the 1974 version. However, I think the 1974 script did a better job at capturing what appalled F. Scott about the wealthy IMO and u can tell that by its ending.

I was blown away by the process of production design. The shading, real life effects were beautiful!!

I’ve watched it many times already. Love what can be done with CGI nowadays.
