LIH Editorial 4/29-5/4

28 Apr

Hello new and returning readers!

Tom Cruise’s latest film, Oblivion, has earned over $64M since it’s release April 19th.  On rottentomatoes, critics gave it 56% “like”.  Consumers were a bit kinder and gave it a 67% “like”.  The story seems great and it even has Morgan Freeman in it as a bad guy!  Ever since his Oprah couch jumping days, it seems his films have not done very well, even though the storyline may be excellent.  Have we as audiences just been over-saturated with Tom or is it the characters he plays all seem to be the same?

We saw Oblivion last week and we walked out toward the middle of the film. It seemed like they tried to blend the story of Moon and Prometheus and failed. It was a very bi-polar frankenstein experience. Yuck!

No! on second thought maybe not Prometheus but Minority Report combined with Moon and add a little Mad Max because u can’t go wrong with Mad Max. This is what I imagine it sounded like when the marketing department pitched this frankfilm to Tom Cruise.

        ahahahahaha!!!! I love your response!

        So was it:
        A) more the story line that was bad
        B) Tom that was true to character–that is, always the same
        or
        C) both

Oh! And it was seasoned with The Matrix and The Terminator as well. A real Sci-Fi greatest hits frankfilm.
