Born in 1901, the genius of Walt Disney evolved as much as the multi-billion dollar corporation that would carry his name [1]. Yet is the company finished, it appears not to be. Today a century plus 13 years later, almost everything super successful occurs under the house of Mouse. Though developed by 20th Century Fox the movie “Avatar” will have it’s own presence in Disney World’s theme park. Bought by Disney in 2009-2010, Disney bought Marvel comics and all of it s characters before the blockbuster smash that would be called “The Avengers.” And if that were not enough, Disney recently bought the entire Star Wars franchise from it’s enigmatic founder George Lucas. Poised to be a factory for blockbusters in the now stabilized new century, Disney’s capacity to disappoint has never been less likely.
As cultural forces go we can only imagine what mutations this entertainment giant will likely undergo in the next decade. Yet we can almost assure that Hollywood eyes, which have been trained to remain, focused where success is guaranteed will undoubtedly stay put. For all these reason’s “Linked in Hollywood,” will feature Disney, as it’s next 5-week series.
