Three words “I Love Him” given in a statement to the media seemed to confirm what some fans of The Twilight Saga believe despite the fact that the relationship between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart was not confirmed until July 25, 2012. That confirmation came from one person, Kristen Stewart. Kristen, you did jeopardize the one thing you respect the most: Your career.
However, Kristen’s indescretions jeopardized more than her career. It has tarnished the brand that Summit/Lionsgate had worked so hard to use to obtain financial security. What happens to The Twilight Saga now that it is no longer what it once was in terms of marketability? How will Kristen redeem herself in the public eye now that she has been called a homewrecker and a whore by many people?
Let’s take a look at the reputation of The Twilight Saga. Now that Kristen has had her “moment” many fans feel that they can enjoy Edward and Bella as characters again. Will Summit take this chance and play up the Edward/ Renessmee angle or will they continue to lawd Kristen has the second coming of Jesus Christ?
From the looks of things they cannot play the “Bella is the best mother in the universe” card. Does she not want to be a mother? I know that she isn’t one but she is playing one. Summit can’t be saying one thing while Kristen is off wrecking a marriage.
Given Kristen’s nature to do one thing a say another she has not only branded herself a homewrecker but also hypocritical. In a recent interview she says that she does not want to sell herself. When you act Kristen, what do you think you are doing? You are selling a product for the masses to enjoy as a form of entertainment. Now I understand that within the context of the article she is speaking about her personal life but how much more hypocritical can she get when a married man is dry humping her over a fence? There is not only one photo but fifty and I think we’ve seen them all.
Kristen, what is it that you are trying to sell? I don’t think you know. So since you have nothing to sell, what is it that you are trying to hide?

Thanks for the comments. In the comments of Kristen’s article, if someone said something nice about her their SN is gold. Now that could be because the color of text change and her fans think they are just as entitled as she is or someone is going through finding the comments and attempting to get them exposure.

Perhaps, like u said the focus should be on Edward/Renesseme the ensemble cast. The reality is they can’t use the Bella/Reness angle for obvious reasons it would take attention away from the film. Given this is the last film the better thing would be to keep the focus on the entire ensemble to overshadow the bad press IMO.
The answer to your other Q. I haven’t seen much Twilight paraphernalia yet in stores.
I was discussing this with Paris before. Summit needs to focus on the entire cast: Volturi, Cullen’s, and Renesme. This is the last film and should incorporate everyone. Bella was NEVER the focus of the story. She was a vehicle to experience our “firsts” all over again with a “true love”.
As for merchandise, I haven’t seen anything. I expect to see stuff come October.
They should also focus on the new vamps like Garrett, the Amazons, Denalis, the Romanians, etc. In the book, they steal the show–esp the Romanians. If I go to see BD2 in the theater (I haven’t seen a Twi movie in the theater yet tho), it will be to see the ‘side’ vamps.
I agree. I’m carrying on my tradition of not watching the movies so I won’t be seeing BD2. However I will be watching the new vampire clips when they come on youtube. They were the only interesting things in the book. If the promo posters had been good I probably wouldn’t be watching much of those clips either.

I agree things don’t look good, but these fans will likely swarm to see Edward in the late fall all the while FINALLY accepting KS is just acting. We should cheer her for liberating the Robsten fanatics. Actual actor romance rumors will not cloud this movie.

Her actions impacted the Saga, IMO, because fans have wanted “Robsten” together for so long and in the “Robstens”vs “Nonstens” debate the “Robstens” got a lot of egg on their face with her actions. They have tried to prove that R/K are together mainly by bullying and blurry photos.
Those 50 photos of rupert and kristen weren’t so blurry now were they? One can clearly see what is going on in the photos.
I agree with you Paris! I’ll also add that if it were any other franchise, it would still be bad but the fall out wouldn’t be as huge. The Twilight Saga has been sold on the real relationship, whatever that maybe, of Kristen and Rob. They were sold as Edward and Bella in real life. With this scandal Kristen wrecked the whole image and that’s why it’s so bad. Bella isn’t supposed to cheat! Had they marketed on the charcters and the story I don’t think it would of become this serious of a problem.
Why do I believe Summit is in any trouble? I agree her games with Rupert verify she is not Bella and clearly does not support Bella’s values. Sure she may be the worst actress in history, but what difference does it make? But even if she gets the lion share of the attention in this movie the series also addresses the Volturi, the whole Cullen family, Charlie, Jacob, and of course Edward.

When I say “pathetic perverts” I mean all of his fans who drool about how “haut” he is every time they take a trip to the internet blogs to relieve themselves. They claim to be fans but every time they say this they guarantee that serious filmmakers see him as a lollipop. The competition for serious movies, the kind that distinguish that actors can act, is really serious and I wish these fans chose to help him out rather than helping themselves out. Directors like the ones below are looking for leading men who will bring gravity to their movies other than just being cute.
Christopher Nolan, Tim Burton, Spike Lee, J.J. Abrams, David Lynch, Guillermo del Toro, Peter Jackson, Paul Thomas Anderson, Steven Soderbergh, etc.
Sorry for the rant, there’s no crime in liking him physically but I saw Cosmopolis last weekend and wish these fans would think about ways of keeping him in that caliber of movie. OMG, if he ever does anything like Beach Blanket Bingo i’d fly out to L.A. myself and smack some sense into him. I think the reasons the Twi-Hards are content in not seeing him move on is they wouldn’t be able to intellectually keep up with him (I’m not saying they are dumb although it just sounded like that) His taste seems to be very ecclectic and wierd. I see him being the next johnny depp in terms of character roles.
Yes, yes, and yes. He picks films (regardless of being weird and out there) that have substance and intelligence. Now he can be even more picky and particular. As of now he has The Rover, Queen of the Dessert, and Mission Blacklist in pre-production. I know there have been talks of other films, but I just mentioned what seems to be happening at the moment.
Although he’s getting ‘quantity’ in films, he’s also picking quality. However, I’d love to see him do an intelligent comedy (not a rom-com). His characters have all been so serious so far & he’s such a lovable goof-ball, I’d bet he’d do great in a funny movie.

Aparrently they’ve been in London for awhile (I heard a month somewhere) and that they’re on vacation touring Europe, so it has nothing to do with Rob and kristen is supposedly stil in L.A. Ok, so help me out here. I think there is a question in what I’m about to say: Liz Taylor had affairs with married men and broke up marriages. Her career continued. Angelina Jolie, not too sure what exactly went down, but it smells fishy, and her career has somewhat suffered, IMO. But maybe that’s because I didn’t think she was that great to begin with. Sienna Miller, don’t know much about her career before her scandal with Balthazar Getty, but you haven’t seen much of her in films. So is there a recipe for making it in the industry after an adulterous affair???

Do you think we as a society have become less forgiving because of extreme paparazzi intrusion and social media or have we always been less forgiving? Or do you think it’s a matter of an actor having true acting ability that we are going to be more forgiving or not. You sort of already addressed this Paris. Hmm! I think because people have more access to actors due to films, television and internet etc…They are less forgiving and more critical of what they do. It’s a shame actors get more attention in the tabloids then politicians. But I digress!! I think society is more cynical and not very trusting of government and the media. So I think this is reason people are more skeptical today then ever before.
There is a lady who just celebrated being alive for 116 years. She said staying out of people’s business was her success to longevity. If only everyone else felt the same.

I think society as a whole has a extremely short time span which they deal with things. Look at the shootings in CO. Very little is heard about it now. People are going to like who they like.
