Is anyone going to go see Prometheus? It looks good but I’m not a huge sci-fi person. I hope it does well in theaters.
I really want to see it merely for ridley Scott. Hopefully I can make it on Saturday!!!
Hi Everyone-
I saw Prometheus over the weekend. I thought the production design was flawless. Ridley Scott did an awesome job.After seeing the film you have a ton of questions regarding the Engineers. Who are they? Why did they do this or that? I won’t ruin it for others who have yet to see it. But this was a great film that honors the Alien franchise.
The Acting: I thought Michael Fassbender was great of course. Not over the top perfect. I thought Idris Elba was compelling although his accent was not great. I did understand why he adopted the southern accent given he was the christian representation in the film. However, it came off as southern mixed with Cajun, which did little to sell him as a bible thumping southerner. Theron I was not a fan of. I thought she completely over acted and sometimes it was quite comical when it was not suppose to be.
I have seen the film twice. I would like to see it again because I have a running bet with CR regarding the Engineers and who gets axed first. I think we both won the bet on who makes it to the end. I hope others see it. Its a great film even if your not a sci-fi fan its worth checking out.
