Chronicle took the #1 spot last weekend grossing $22 million. At #2 was The Woman in Black taking in $21 million. The Grey came in at #3 and Big Miracle took the #4 spot grossing $7.8 million. Last week we had 3 films open. Let’s see how well they did and if they are worth the money![1]

Big Miracle – PG – What’s the Buzz?
Big Miracle is based on a true story and stars Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski. A small town reporter and a Greenpeace volunteer start a campaign to save a family of Grey whales trapped in the Arctic Circle. Although top critics seem to have mixed feelings about this film, families like it. The New York Times, says “Big Miracle gets off to a shaky start, but once revved up, it becomes an involving work-against-the-clock-and-the-odds action movie.[2]”
So is it worth the money? Maybe.

Chronicle – PG-13 – What’s the Buzz?
Chronicle is about three high school friends who develop super powers after finding an incredible discovery. Their lives start to fall apart when they start using their special skills for darker purposes. Rolling Stone Magazine describes it as a “potent and provocative journey never stops springing surprises.[3]”
So is it worth the money? Yes!

The Woman In Black – PG – 13– What’s the Buzz?
This film stars Daniel Radcliffe as a young lawyer who goes to sort out a recently deceased client’s affairs in a remote village. Soon he discovers a malevolent spirit, “The Woman in Black”, who terrorizes the villagers and is forced to solve her mysterious past before it’s too late. The Los Angeles Times calls The Woman in Black “a good, old-fashioned ghost yarn of the Victorian Gothic persuasion.[4]”
So is it worth the money? Yes!

I’m going to say, “No” to Journey 2 and a possible “Maybe” to The Vow. Chronicle sounds great, so I’m game…
I saw 30 minutes of Chronicle. It was far more compelling than I expected. Can’t wait to return to the Theater to see the whole thing.
