      Hello Paris!

I’m so glad you’re here because if it wasn’t tonight, it would be the second night I turned up early, lol!

      LB!

I’m having some trouble with wordpress at the moment. First it told me I was posting to fast after one comment and now it won’t post comments!

    Hi ladies!!!

So far none of the dresses have blown me away and I would hate to have people yelling at me. That’s so annoying to listen to.

    • ozzie20 January 15, 2012 at 7:46 PM #

That’s why I don’t have the sound on! Infact I’m not really watching the red carpet show. The screams and the stupid questions are like nails on a chalk board to me. Bring on the actually ceremony!

    MAYA RUDOLPH IN DA HOOOOOUSE!!!!

Ricky, Ricky, Ricky, “I love you!!!!” Your joke about Jodie Foster’s “Beaver” killed me. For those that don’t know, she made a movie called “Beaver” or something like that. Anyway, I thought it was funny. So far the hubs is enjoying the show so I take that as a good sign as he doesn’t care about award shows. At all.

    Love Christopher plummer
Am grateful Ashton cut his hair
Haven’t been impressed by any of the gowns, but the night is still young

      i dislike angelina’s dress.

      • littlebells January 15, 2012 at 8:25 PM #

Rob Lowe needs to lay of the spray tan.

ITA about the dress. What is that anyway?

        • ozzie20 January 15, 2012 at 8:55 PM #

Damn! I must of missed the Jody Foster joke, when I was having trouble with the sound on the feed.

        • Open Book January 15, 2012 at 11:55 PM #

LOL!! I think a few people went overboard with the spray tan. Especially those wearing the nude color gowns.

Ok, I’m gonna say it: I think award shows need to stop nominating films that most of America has not seen. Not because they don’t want to, but the films are in limited release. The GGs started out great, imo, but then I got so bored because I had no concept about anything being nominated and I got incredibly, exhaustingly bored. Wow I’m so bored that I wrote a horrible run on sentence about boredom.

I’m writing this from the POV of a regular Jane who likes award shows and seeing movies. If none of these films are in my local theater between now and the Oscars, I will be sadly disappointed. I’m turning off the GGs. Ricky is great, but I don’t care about most of the nominations. I’ll read about the winners later.

I’m finding it alot better than the PCA. It seems to be running at a faster pace. Ricky is good so far. Maybe I’m finding it a bit better because I’m used to not knowing what the films are about, what with my ghost town having no cinema, lol!

      • littlebells January 15, 2012 at 9:27 PM #

Yes it is better than the PCAs and I understand your POV of enjoying it more. That makes complete sense. Do you know if The Help has won anything????

        • ozzie20 January 15, 2012 at 9:43 PM #

Not as far as I know. I may have missed a few though with me trying to get my sound to work. I think The Artist and Midnight In Paris are leading with two wins each.

          • ozzie20 January 15, 2012 at 9:50 PM #

I think The Help has won an award! 🙂

    • littlebells January 15, 2012 at 11:06 PM #

Ok, I may have come across as too harsh with that post. I just wish I could have had the availability to see all the movies that were nominated for best picture and actor/actress.

      • ozzie20 January 16, 2012 at 8:05 PM #

        I didn’t think you sounded harsh! 🙂

  8. Parisienne January 15, 2012 at 8:54 PM #

    Hi,

Let me read and get caught up. I will respond in a few.

    • littlebells January 15, 2012 at 11:05 PM #

      Hi OB!

Ok, so I tuned in just in time to really watch it get good again. So thrilled about Octavia. I was as shocked as Meryl, but in a good way! haha! Absolutely happy about The Artist. I have yet to see it, but I know it is wonderful. What a great concept.

Um….have I missed anything? (Thank goodness for tivo)

I’ve been off trying to see the red carpet. Sorry!

I like Emma Stone & Charlize Theron dress. Not all that impressed by the Red Carpet.

    • littlebells January 15, 2012 at 11:57 PM #

Yeah, nothing gossip worthy…*passes the popcorn*

    Was Ricky Gervais good?

    • littlebells January 16, 2012 at 12:58 AM #

Yeah, but he seemed pretty limited in the funnies. He made comments about staying on time. Still funny but for a while there I was ready just to watch him do stand up for 30 minutes.

      • Open Book January 16, 2012 at 5:43 AM #

        Thanks LB!

I saw his opening monologue it was luke warm compared to last year. What made his monologue great last year, it came out of left field, HW had no time to think and put on fake suits. The reactions were real and honest last year. This year they prepared their fake suits, spray tans etc…. all ready to say, “Yeah! I can take a joke. Gervais is Fantastic! Because he’s popular and get ratings.” Eye roll!

        • littlebells January 16, 2012 at 10:52 AM #

          mmmm,hmmmm!!! *side eye smirk*

          • littlebells January 16, 2012 at 10:53 AM #

I meant to add it will be interesting to see if it did better in ratings, dropped, or stayed the same this year.
