Yes, consumers like to see actors on television or in film. However, getting the details of an actor walking a dog how could this be interesting or worth reporting over their latest movie? Well apparently something as simple as walking a dog is big business for those who arranged to document this moment in history last week.
Some days ago pictures were circulating all over the Internet showing Kristen Stewart walking a dog. Now, there is a lot of speculation if this is Robert Pattinson’s dog (he claims to have adopted recently) named Bear. Honestly it does not matter whom the dog belongs to. What matters are the pictures taken from a gossip site called Just Jared Jr. (and what stood out the most) showed the dog being dragged along while in Stewart’s care.[1] Perhaps the dog was spooked by the paparazzi and refused to walk beside her? Truth is no one knows besides Stewart, the dog and the person behind the camera.
It appears that Stewart was choking the dog however everyone is up in arms as to whether or not these photos prove she and Rob are dating. Really? Shouldn’t the question be why is a dog being put in the middle of this media spectacle surrounding these two? Have we as a society become so desensitized to abuse in any form that we are willing to overlook this incident in order to promote the agendas of others?

Watching PR for this fandom has really made me give a huge thumbs down to the HW machine. I also give two thumbs down to fans of all actors who are idiots and keep this machine chugging full speed ahead. Argh!!! 😦
I know what you mean by giving a thumbs down to the HW machine. However as long as Summit and whoever has their hands in the Twilight cookie jar contine to profit. Anything and everyclose close to Robert or Kristen is fair game. IMO. An 800 million dollar debt is going to take a while to pay off.
What gets me about the entire thing is that no one has said ONE WORD about the dog being mistreated. NOT ONE. Maybe he wasn’t being mistreated and it was just a very quick snapshot but everyone goes on and on about whether or not they are together. It absolutely boggles my mind. I don’t get it.
See I wondered if it was the flashes from the bulbs that may have scared the pup and made it re-treat. Again, without a video who knows. I’m still feel very sad for the little guy.
I really don’t see the appeal of following an actor who has not proven themselves worth paying attention too? I could see if they were making excellent decisions one after another than perhaps this would merit some of the intense scrutiny. Simply because then u can argue the interest in wanting to find out what inspires this talented individual. However, this is know more than frivolous idolization over nothing. Only, now u have a puppy in the mix.
That poor dog. A harness would be better than a leash regardless. I hate to see a pet used as a pawn in celeb games. 😦

I agree Paris this dog looks bewildered yet maybe it is because the pup is scared of the photographers who are recording the event.
I don’t know whether they’re together or not, but Kristin seems to occupy herself pretty strangely when he’s supposedly out of the country (see other pictures). My assumption is she and he probably has a ton of assistants to help walk a dog. Why is she doing this at all? People have heard her family raises wolves so why is she willing to be occupied by this animal. Wouldn’t she just keep the dog at home in LA with her wolf-pooches. For some reason this story doesn’t seem entirely logical to travel with a dog that supposedly isn’t yours if you have facilities at home better able to keep the pet comfortable.
Also I’ve lived in both LA and NY. Though some places may be radically different than others. And no I don’t stay in the kind of hotels him or her probably frequent. I would think NY hotels would be the most resistant to dogs staying in them. That’s not a Seeing Eye dog after all….
…I’m wondering whether this canine surrogate baby is really a sign that things aren’t going that well in the Robsten love nest. They’ve been together almost 5 or 6 years and there’s still no public notice of an engagement. Some might think this PR ploy is an attempt to make her look like she takes care or his laundry and dog when he’s outta town. The public might assume he’s a jerk.
Again don’t they have assistants for all of this kind of stuff?
Open Book Costume wise doesn’t her “costume” send out some contradictory messages? The low cut v-top says relaxed weekend outing. The jacket reminds us it still may be cool in the Spring time in NY yet the stuff below the waist throws off this scene in the most unlikely way. The Kicks say casual and sporty foot wear. But the skinny jeans remind you of nicotine induced skinniness which in turn underscores that this walker isn’t an exercise geek or gym rat. Why would she agree to walk the dog?…

I don’t follow all this stuff with them but I do feel sorry for this dog. I have so say your analysis is pretty logical and spot on.
She can’t even take care of herself, why would she take care of a dog??!!!

ITA Kristen’s contradictory wardrobe did not sell her as an experienced care giver. Also, having the puppy on a leash instead of a harness was the second clue. K has stated on numerous occasions how reckless and dangerous the paparazzi are. Why subject the little puppy to this if u are an animal lover? It’s too bad a lot more consideration was not given on how they would care for the little puppy.
…The bags she’s carrying don’t make it clear whether she’s shopping or travelling. Yet she doesn’t appear to be carrying dog walking tools a pooper scooper. Are her body guards carrying that, and if so why not the rest of her things. By the way where are the body guards? She has time to put on a pair of over-sized sun glasses but she doesn’t appear a respond to something the dog expects to do on a walk or shopping trip.
The pup’s usual walkers probably do not attract photogs. Hence unusually started Dog. Kristin on the other hand deals with photogs all the time and probably does as much as she can to run away to run away from them. This reaction from her seems to be far tamer than previous outings yet could easily explain why her demeanor says one thing and the dog’s says another.
Paris, are you saying being dragged is being mistreated.

I think overall it was a PR stunt because the situation makes no sense whatsoever. And honestly the keds threw me off! Where are the converse!? WHERE ARE THE CONVERSE??? 🙂

IMO, the dog is mistreated because it appears to be choked. We don’t know that of course but look at the way the collar is on his neck and his demeanor. Also look at the way she walks in front of him. Dog owners should know not to walk in front of their dogs when teaching them how to walk on a leash. I have also heard that her family raises wolves. Shouldn’t she be used to being around animals by now to know how to properly walk beside a dog and not appear to choke the poor pooch? My uncle has dogs and I was playing with them once while they were on a leash. I was holding the leash when one of the dogs decided he would see how far to the end of it he could get. To make a long story short the dog choked himself on the end of the leash and to this day will not come near me at all. That was two years ago. so it will be interesting to see if Bear (if that is Bear) will go near her after this. As far as the hotels letting animals to stay. In my experience, with Disney, the dog had to be a service animal but at Hard Rock Hotel at Universal they let all dogs in not just service animals so i guess its up to the discretion of the hotel.
As for her clothing, if she’s trying to pull of “devoted” GF she doesn’t do it very well. She needs a stylist.
After a little research I found out the hotel that Kristen is photographed coming out of is the Bowery Hotel and it is pet friendly.

I don’t know if it’s the same trainer, but it is the same place. Not sure when it was filmed, whether it be before or after WFE. Other than that I’m not sure what’s going on. I said this elsewhere, but animal abusers have their own special place in hell.

This video is so disturbing of Tai and the elephant sanctuary she comes from. I know this was back in 2005. Why are they only coming forward now with this information? Is it to capitalize on WFE success to try and bring awareness to stop this situation?
That’s what I want to know. Why now? It’s just as bad as the actual absusers to wait all this time and to not do something about it then. Then what if they (the animal abusers) did do it then but learned their lesson and are actually legit now? The action should of been taken then, not now.
ITA- There needs to be some follow up to this story. At least a then and now story. If not to say this is the bad way and this is the humane way. So perhaps others can learn what not to do.
Yes, I agree. Also, if it turns out that the video has been out since the time they took it and it’s only getting attention now, far enough. But if they’ve sat on it all this time, again why now. Why not at the beginning of filming? Is the release intended to hurt the film rather than raise awareness? If so, that’s not fair. To hold something like that and use it to raise the charity’s profile at the time they can make the most impact is not right either.
EXACTLY!!! I could not agree with u more. They really need to explain their intentions and motivations behind releasing this now. Not because they should be put on trial but u are right it does not make the charity look very legit the way it’s being presented now.

OB, I have no idea why R or K (if it is his puppy) would allow this. I can only ASSUME he was not part of that decision. This is the second time the dog has been photographed. The first one was with K’s bodyguard or whatever he is. I think it’s to make to them look like a couple while they are apart and to make K look like such a great person. Pfft!

Well, I just posted what I thought about the elephants above as for Kristen, I think I’d need a video to judge it properly. As much as I don’t like her, I don’t want to acuse her of something based on photos. It’s a snap shot in time and in a video it may not be her fault at all but the surrounding elements. The photos don’t look good though. If it was for pr then I wouldn’t be impressed. There’s no need to bring in a helpless, innocent animal into the furore.
Oow, it’s been 5 hours since I last took painkillers. I can take some more. Hopefully this lot will work!

IMO a video would be even worse. Simply because then u are dealing with the audio of the screaming and yelling that goes on during these madd and chaotic paparazzi events. Plus u have NY traffic? Not good! Can u imagine the puppy trying to take all that in plus being dragged into the middle of this by it’s care giver? The mixed messages being sent out could not be very good for building confidence in the little guy.

IMO, I think Rob is aware. He has to be. I’m sure by now someone(his fam and freinds) have shoved a photo of the puppy with Jon or K in his face. He did say that his dog would never be photographed. Well one should never say never. If Rob has a problem with his dog being used as a pawn in this game then he needs to tell whoever is orchestrating the puppet show that they are only allowed to photograph him and not his pets, friends or fam. If Little Miss I Ride Coattails Because I Can’t Cut It On My Own has a problem with it then that’s her problem not his.

With all this stuff floating around about boycotting WFE. Being an animal lover u can easily spot another. I have to say, I was quite impressed how R managed to get Tai to warm up to him by learning what appealed to her. It really made his performance believable and natural. That’s why it’s hard for me to believe he would support this puppy being handled so carelessly in these photos. If this is R’s dog?
Attributing another persons carelessness on a innocent person is not ethical or civil IMO. Whether it be K with this puppy or the establishment that abused Tai.

I noticed at my local theater. WFE only has 3 showtimes now. Which is sad. I think its a great movie, its a shame that the agendas of others has to get in the way of a great film. I’m sorry if i sounded harsh toward Rob in my previous comment, I didn’t mean for it to sound that way. I just think, if he knows about what happened with his dog (which i’m assuming he does) then he should stand up and say enough is enough. All animal owners know what makes their pets frightened. Don’t you think he may have told her “Keep him away from paps because he’s scared of them.” He probably did and she didn’t listen, she used the dog for her own gain.

That’s why I doubt this is R’s dog. Simply because he’s shown such compassion for Tai to take time to learn what appeals to her. I don’t know of any other actor in HW who would have rubbed apple juice on themselves to make friends with an elephant or willing to get their hands dirty. U would have to be an animal lover to find that appealing. Then to turn around and put this puppy in the middle of this media circus like K did appears to be out of character. This really looks like K’s careless misjudgment.
IMO, for an actor to rub juice all over himself to make friends with an animal is a serious commitment as an actor and animal lover. Which I didn’t understand the media circus with the dog, obviously he would care enough not to put the dog into the limelight like that. Maybe summit has done something like Paris Hilton did a while ago. Got a dog from a shelter to use for her own gain when outside and took a pic with the dog then walked back into the shelter and gave the dog back. Perhaps Summit will return this poor dog to the shelter afterward?
I wonder what Rob thinks of the video of Tai and the other elephants.

U mentioned how WFE only has three showtimes at your local theater? Well that’s pretty common for a film it’s third weekend. Actually Limitless has only three showtimes and it’s been out 8 weeks and it has cleaned up at the BO it had a PB of 27 million and it has grossed over 139 million as of today. Plus if we compare the two WFE and Limitless in it’s third week earnings. WFE has grossed more in it’s third week than Limitless which grossed only 55 million in it’s third week. IMO! If it’s a good film which both films clearly are u can’t stop people from seeing it.
I’m sorry let me correct myself. Limitless did earn more than WFE in it’s third week domestically but not by very much. Also, we are comparing a Drama to a Action/Thriller and a Action/Thriller typically attracts a wider demographic. So WFE is still doing really well IMO!

I also notice that it’s only during the weekdays they reduce it to three. On the weekends they up it to five shows. This still is not bad for a film now in it’s 4th weekend out.
