Well it was a great interview. He handle himself quite well.
Yes I thought so to.
I was disapointed they again talked about his hair. Like come on enough with the hair already.
Also, I’m really glad they asked more Q about WFE!!
Yes and his other projects also. I agree with the hair, that seems so old. Of course that was before my time, I’ve only been watching Rob since Remember Me.
I was interested in what he wants to do in his future. That was interesting.
This is what has always impressed me about him. He has an appreciation for filmmaking and cares about making a good product. This is what HW needs. He’s young but he gets it!! It’s not about going with the trends but actually being a innovator. To me that’s true artistry u don’t see with many young actors today.
I almost forget that he is only 24 going on 25. He really is very mature from what I can see in his way of thinking.
Yes! He’s 25 going on 35. IMO!! Smart guy.
I really liked the way he spoke about Reese. I have always admired her and thought of her as a strong willed person. She is a tough women who has really evolved as an actor.
Yeah, I agree with your assessment on both actors.
I live with a son and a husband that is very much like Rob, so maybe that’s why I can really relate.
Kim,
I was actually interested in what he wants to do in his future as well. However, it’s better he does not discuss it in great detail or show his hand. It’s just not good to do that in HW. He’s smart he’s grown up alot in the last year. I’m quite impressed!!
Yeah I noticed that he stopped himself when talking about future stuff. I had to do the same thing here when I wanted to comment on something that he hinted around about, that I wanted to comment on, but feel that I can’t. (I know that sounds cryptic)
Its interesting how he talked about how excited he was working on WFE.
Aw, c’mon, Kim. Spill woman! 😉 I haven’t seen the interview yet and will tomorrow.
I’m sorry. I have something in the works that I don’t want to tip my hat on. I can say though I’m actually kind of surprised that from listening to Rob talk that we may have the same idea.
I do have to say that I’m kind of flattered, because I see Rob as a very very bright individual and if I’m thinking in the same line as he is, then I’m shocked at myself.
4string.
U can access the interview if u click on the link up above on this post.
I didn’t mean I couldn’t access it, but just meant I’ll watch it later. 🙂 I’m going to watch it today.
I have to say whenever I see Rob in an interview, it makes me want to sit down and really have a conversation or interview him for myself.
He just seems like a thinker, which is very intriguing to me, because that is such a rare thing in his age group. Its usually takes age for someone to think like he does.
Can i get an AMEN!!!!???? yes, Oh my gosh! My friend and I have all these questions but would rather just ask questions and talk about stuff as they come up. I love that he is a thinker. There is always something to talk about. Oh well, never gonna happen….:(
ITA!! Littlebells and Kim….
Great observations!! He’s very cerebral. That’s one of the traits of an artist.IMO!!
P.S. Never say never Littlebells!!
I would love to know if he talked to any veterinarians as part of his research. My grandpa-in-law is a 93 yr old retired country vet and dealt a lot with livestock. I’d love to know if he found anyone like that to pick their brains.
Yeah that would be something interesting to find out.
Another, thing I noticed he’s seems to be coming into his own as an actor. One of the things I’m always disturb by, how can he stay focused and centered when some fans want to give him ultimatumns inorder for them to support his career. It’s like they believe he owes them or something or he should attribute his success to them. It’s really weired!!!
Yes, but its not only him. There are fans out there that think many entertainment people owe their fame to their fans. I have to say I guess I can see a bit of that, but not to the extent that some fans do.
What I mean is if “we” the fans didn’t go to the movies or buy the music, or go to the theater (I’m talking stage)or even go to the games than those entertainers wouldn’t be getting paid.
But these people are working for that. I mean actors working many many hours to get that show filmed or prepared on stage. Musicians practice, write and study to get good at their job. Athletes need to practice too so that they can get to that point in their careers.
Its just a different kind of work.
Exactly,
Here’s the thing. In order for an artist to grow they need to be able to explore, make mistakes, take calculated risk etc… Some fans don’t get that. Instead they want to label and put artist in boxes because it makes them feel in control. However, this will never work because of “free will.” These fans will always be frustrated by artist decisions with that attitude. Anyway, this is why R is perfect for Cosmopolis. I think he will really be able to add many layers and perspectives to this character. Why? Because this characters internal dialogue is at odds with “free will” and predictability/control.IMO!!
I agree. I have always said that I want to see Rob play a character that is like a serial killer or something really dark. I think that Cosmopolis, not to say Eric Packer is dark its just a little darker than what he has played so far, is a step in that direction so was BA, but if he went a little darker than Georges in BA it would give him that added dimension that I feel he can play. Then maybe come back with something a little lighter after the dark character.
Yeah!! I think a gangster is something he’s said he would like to do, which sounds interesting to me but he did not think people would buy it. However, I really believe he knows what to do and what’s best for him. I like his decisions so far!!
Oh I’m not complaining about his decisions, I just look at some other actors that when they changed it up to a real dark character it helped them shake the hear throb/teen idol label.
Examples: Mark Harmon (Ted Bundy), Heath Ledger (The Joker)
Baby steps!! Baby steps!! Is probably necessary in the predicament R’s in. IMO!! When MH and HL changed up so drastically they did not do it in the age of social media!! It’s going to take some time to make the transition. I believe he’s being very calculated and that’s good.
So true. The social media thing really does play a big part of anything in today’s society.
I wasn’t complaining about his moves, just saying that its something to consider, for future projects.
I do have to say I’m not surprised about the behind the scenes ideas.
I think it all boils down to power. In other words, if some fans think they have the ability to control his career by crossing the boundaries of what’s respectful etc… Than they feel somewhat powerful and important. Something they probably don’t have in their own lives. Does that make sense?
Yeah it does and you are right there are so many “fans” that will threaten that if he doesn’t do this or that then they won’t support him, which is so wrong.
Kim!!
I’m going to call it a night. It was really great talking to u. U always have such intuitive questions and answers, u are always interesting to talk to. I would really like to get your thoughts on R’s interview on Jay Leno tomorrow.
Take Care!!
Thanks you too. I had a good time. Great conversation.
See you tomorrow.
To: Kim & Littlebells
U two mentioned u wanted to sit down and interview R yourself. If u had an opportunity what would u ask him?
Oh my goodness…let me go get my list! Now mind you, this list did take some time and we got silly but we also got pretty deep.
ACTING
1. Oscar vs. Kennedy Award. Would you rather receive an Oscar for a mostly one time thing (and pretty much never get another) or a Kennedy Award for a lifetime of wonderful films and tremendous characters?
2.What is it about acting that you find satisfying/ interesting?
3. What specifically is it about roles/movies that make you choose one over the other?
4. How are you internally drawn to them and do you learn something about yourself with each role?
MISC.
A lot of super accomplished people say that they knew within themselves that they were meant to be larger than life. Many have said they heard voices (i.e. God) or saw signs that lead them to making the choices they’ve made along the way. Did you feel like you were destined for a life that was bigger than big? If so, at what age did you know and how did you know?
Biggest regret
My brother has forever complained that my parents never had another boy. As the only brother with 2 sisters (like my family) have you resented this also?
One trait/characteristic/thing that you would change about yourself and why
One trait/characteristic/thing that you wouldn’t change about yourself and why
What do you wish you had more time for (i.e. sleep, a girlfriend, your music, family, travel, free time)
Which is more important: what you say or how you say it? Explain.
What do you think is the most significant event in the history of the human race? Explain.
What’s unforgivable? Or are all things forgivable?
What’s the difference between intelligence and wisdom?
FLUFF
Favorite stuffed animal as a child?
First crush?
Favorite treat?
Ranch dressing or thousand Island?
Croutons or bacon bits?
Black licorice or Red licorice?
Do you sing in the shower?
Wow!! Littlebells. Hmmm! I’m thinking u could hold your own in an interview with R. These are pretty great Q.
I need to give a shout out to my girl, Whatevs, for helping with our question list. 🙂
You need to tell her to come join us littlebells. I would love to see more of our friends from the other site come here and discuss some of these topics. We have a great number of people with some great insight.
I love your questions. Even the fluff, ones are fun. you forget coke or pepsi? (HAHAHA)
Great job, it looks like I may have some competition here regarding questions, you set the bar really high. Thank you I like a challenge.
Thanks gals! Honestly, if I were to have an interview with Rob, He’d have to allow me at least 5 minutes of squee time. Either in one lump or spread throughout. hahahahaha!
Kim, I can’t wait to see your questions! I wouldn’t say I set the bar high, but I’m so sick of the same moronic, non thinking questions he is always asked. Snooze fest! 🙂 If you get to interview him before me, will you ask some of my questions??? 🙂
Of course I will. I agree I’m sure he gets tired of the same questions too.
I’m like you I want some good thinking questions especially with someone like Rob. He is a thinker so he would probably appreciate them more.
I do know if I had an interview with him I would need no time limit, some drinks, some food, ah let’s make it a whole evening of just talking.
Oh I agree! He could wear his flannel jammies for all I care! Definitely no time limit because you KNOW once he starts talking, you’d come up with a billion more questions you’d want answered. I’d even let TomStu hang out for a while. 🙂
This is a good question. OB. I will think about this and come back to it. So you may have to read this post later, today. But I will definitely post it. So everyone remember to come back to see what I have to say.
Hi All!
I forgot about the commenting party! I’m so sorry! Anyhow, I only watched part of the mtv interview because i can only do it in spurts. (just how i am) and I also saw his Leno interview. He did very well in both but I did notice that he looks down alot when he talks. Also I was waiting for the K questions. Seems like JH tried to throw K in when ever he could.
Anyhow, I’ll ttys.
Hi!
So Rob’s interview last night with leno was a rehash of the last time he was there. He looked spectacular.
I agree! I think his MTV interview was better. I think the live interview was better than there botched up edited version they have posted today.
I do agree JH really tried to get the K Q in there quite a number of times. SMH!!
Yeah I would like to say I liked how Rob turned those questions around quite nicely. I was getting so tired of some of the silly things that was on the Mtv interview, the hair, the Twilight Tuesdays, etc. Please Rob was there to promote WFE, there is a ton of stuff there, ask him about that.
Now I know they did, but still I wasn’t happy with the silly Twilight/KS stuff, but so glad on how he handled the questions.
I have to say I loved the Leno interview so much. He looked relaxed and you can tell that Leno and Rob get along quite nicely.
I also think it was so refreshing that no questions about Twilight or his relationship with KS were asked, that was a breath of fresh air. That was until the comedian came out and she kept mentioning Twilight and him being a vampire. I kind of felt bad for him then.
I also thought, even though we didn’t see him do it, but I bet he was in awe to see the guitar that Dwezil Zappa had since the history behind it. Rob seems the type that would find that really interesting.
I agree. Didn’t Jimi Hendrix start that guitar on fire?
Yes, now I’m not really into guitars but as a piece of history I would be amazed to see that myself. So I can just imagine how he was.
I was honored one time to handle a letter written by Abraham Lincoln. I have to say that is something I will never forget.
Yes!! Hendrix and the lead guitarist Pete Townshend of the WHO!
I think he did seem more comfortable with Leno than in the MTV interview. Love the suit on Leno!! I agree the comedian really got on my nerves. I mean come on…….
But he handled the K questions very well.
i turned it off after r was done so i never saw whitney but i loved his suit. it looked silky. that was silk wasn’t it?
Well u were smart!! I should have followed u.
I can understand Rob’s comment on Mtv about having funny material. Especially after sitting next to a comedian on the Leno show, I’m sure he felt on the spot when she was ranting about Twilight and vampires. He probably also felt kind of out of place. He seems like a funny guy, but his humor is very different than a comedians that does it for a living. I felt bad for him.
Well he really did the right thing by sitting there and taking it. I mean he has so much attention on him right now. So every little thing he says is analyzed and scrutinized to death. Plus it was really her 15 not his. Also, the last time he said something to the actress on Leno. TWI fans attacked her twitter account or something?
Yeah that’s true. I still felt bad for him, that he was kind of the butt of all her materiel. He did a good job.
One thing that bothers me though, when he sits down wearing a suit he always forgets to unbutton the suit jacket button, it just looks weird to me.
Yeah!! He needs to do that. ITA!!!
I also think he should have worn a tie on Leno!
Oh good I thought it was just me about the jacket. Yeah last time he wore a tie he look really good. He looked more comfortable this time without.
Yeah he did look good in that suit. It did look silky. I have to say Rob makes suits look good.
I would LOVE to have seen his expression during the riff section!!!!!!
Oh yeah I was thinking the same thing I was wondering if his fingers were tapping away or doing the air guitar.
Completely! I bet he had a little drool coming out of the corner of his mouth. LOL!
So tell me Paris and K?
What part of R’s MTV interview u liked the most?
from what i have seen……the wfe parts, things where he talked about reese and the elephants.
how about u? what was your favorite part?
My favorite part is when he discussed the American 30’s depression and process of making WFE. I really wished he would have elaborated more on the nostalgic films that inspired him.
🙂
Oh when he started to talk history he won me over even more. Plus, when he mentioned Gary Cooper, I was really impressed and thought yeah he has that Gary Cooper kind of look.
My favorite part was obvious talking the era and I would have liked him to elaborate more on his research on that.
Also you can tell he really liked working with Reese and Tia.
I agree Kim…
I really appreciated him talking about Reese and Tai. I have always liked her and think she really prepares well for her roles. She seems like a very giving actor as well.
Yes, she really does. She seems like the kind of person that you could go up to and have a conversation with. She doesn’t seem standoffish. Rob seems the same way that’s why I think they got along so well. I’m sure he learned a lot from her and Christopher. Funny he didn’t talk about Christopher as much as he did with Reese.
Well I guess because he did more scenes with RW than CW. She also had to work with the animals more closely like he did. So they probably can swap war stories. LOL!!
I mean he had to do a love scene with her so he would need to be more open and closer to RW after that.
However, I have heard him discuss working with CW before in interviews.
Yeah I did like the comment about having a cold during the love scenes, nothing says romantic like a stuffed up and snotty nose.
Another reason I will never go into acting, I get so paranoid about getting sick from people. That would have been so hard for me. I would have been handing him Kleenex and anti-bacterial cleaner btwn each take.
R was keeping it real… Hmmm! Maybe a little too real. LOL!!
well ladies i need to go. have a good day!
By Paris, talk to you soon.
O.k. Thanks for joining us!!
TC!!
I haven’t watched all of the MTV interview, only about 20 minutes of it and it seems good! So far the only thing that annoyed me is the hair monatge.
Yeah, I agree ozzie. Mtv really could have done without that and the Twilight Tuesday stuff.
U AND ME BOTH!!! AAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!! I mean come on enough with the hair!! If I were R, I’d shave my head and go bald.!!!LOL!!
Yeah like the question about what shampoo he uses. I love the reaction when Josh asked that, it was like Huh???
Yes! The shampoo Q. I mean people already know too many personal things about him. Who gives a crap what shampoo he uses. That’s such a shallow Q.
IMO!! U and Littlebells would have done a better job interviewing R.
Seriously! hahahahahaha!
Yeah, well he knows if he mentions the name it would be sold out all over the world.
Thank you OB, I think I could do a whole lot better than most of the interviewers out there.
I admit I haven’t watched the MTV video. I trust all you ladies that it was better than expected. I love that Rob can literally talk about anything. My brain is always going and switches from one subject to another.
Yeah I know how that is, I’m always thinking and when I don’t have something to think about I think about why I don’t have something to think about. The same with worrying.
LOL!!!
Well I’m addicted to research that’s what helps me and keeps me from worrying Kim…..
Yeah I hear you. I’ve always been a worrier.
U sound like me. LOL!!
My brain is always going asking Q. It’s a sickness. LOL!!
My nickname as a child was Curious George!
But that is so awesome!!! Do you know how many kids DO NOT THINK at all??? It’s incredibly disturbing.
Yeah! Well it was hell for my parents… I would always wonder off if I saw something that needed further investigation. LOL!!
That sounds like my son. He is like a little professor. He takes a magnifying glass and see what he can catch on fire. Just to experiment. He is loving his chemistry class right now, except that all the other students want him to teach them what to do.
It is sometimes amazing to hear him talk chemistry and astronomy his to loves.
Oh I know how that was, I was the one with my nose in a book to find the answers or asking why? I have passed this same trait down to my youngest son. Sadly, he is the same with me in school I would teach myself the lesson and then do the homework in class while the rest learned the assignment. I never studied for tests. When I went to college I was like shoot I don’t know how to study, I had to teach myself to study for tests. I am trying to tell him to learn now bc the schools he wants to go to he won’t have the buffer to learn how to study for tests.
I’ll tell you this Leno was better bc there were no Twilight/KS questions and he looked comfortable with Jay.
Mtv was great bc it was live and Rob did a great job despite Josh and Mtv adding Twilight/KS to the interview, but there was just a little most of it was WFE, with some personal stuff.
Both interviews Rob did great. I would say it was a good night and if this was an election debate I would say Rob was on the winning side for both interviews.
I prefered Leno because it was all about WFE too.
Everyone!!
We have about five more minutes do u have any further Q or statements u would like to add?
Just to say don’t forget to come back later today or even tomorrow to see about my interview questions that I would have for Rob. I’m excited to sit down and think about this.
Will do!! Kim….Can’t wait!!
It was nice chatting with all of u today. Really great post to read by everyone.
Take Care!!
Have a great day
I’ll try to remember!
Bye all.
Kim,
I will keep reminding Whatevs to come check this site out. She just gets so busy that she forgets. I’ll keep trying though!!!!
I am looking forward to your questions!! 🙂 We can use my questions for the comic relief. haha!
Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!! Where are youuuuuuu?????? heehee. I’m just bored. Don’t mind me. 🙂
Don’t worry I’m just proofing and will post in just a moment. Sorry major RL problem.
Okay here is my interview questions if I would ever get the honor to interview Robert Pattinson.
First, I would need more than 30 mins or whatever time limit that interviewers usually get. Why because I wouldn’t want the answers rushed and obviously have some follow ups on some answers.
Questions:
Career
Which type of character do you prefer? Fictional character were author is still alive (WFE, HPGoF) so you can get some input, Fictional character were author is no longer alive (BA) so you can create your own idea, or character of an actual person (Little Ashes)? Why?
You seem to pick many films that are based on books. Is this something that you look for in a script or has this just been coincidental? Since usual book adaptation scripts usually vary from the books do you usually read the books before or after getting a script that is a book adaptation?
How much research do you do for a movie? What kind of research do you do?
If you couldn’t have a career in entertainment, what do you think you would have done with your life?
Is there any movie that you would never want to see remade? Is there a movie you would love to see remade?
Is there a foreign film that you would like to see made into English?
Is there a book that you would love to see made into a film?
You spend so much time reviewing and studying your lines. So do the lines fly right out of your head after the scene is done? Or do you remember them?
Would you give any new actors coming up any advice?
What is your favorite thing to do btwn takes?
Before WFE, had you ever been to a circus before?
What’s the most essential ingredient in making a good film?
Are you internally drawn to the roles you pick and do you learn something about yourself with each role?
What specifically is it about roles/movies that make you choose one over the other?
While filming WFE did he learn anything important and/or worthwhile about himself as an actor?
What was the most challenging part of filming WFE?
What has been your most challenging role?
What are some of your aspirations beyond acting?
There are questions that I would love to ask that would be off the record and I would sign anything saying I would reveal the answers.
Such as:
His opinion about HW?
Is there a difference of filming in the US and England?
I would love to talk to him what is actually on a HW contract?
His ideas about the future of HW and film?
Do you think the royalty of England should be done away with and if so why?
What are your opinions of the U.S. and their foreign policies?
Are you a conservative, a liberal or a moderate?
Misc.
If you could spend a day with one person living or dead, who would it be? why?
If you could travel in a time machine would you go into the past or the future? Why?
Where is one place in the world you would want to go that you have never been to?
You are often seen with your Kindle and/or a book, which do you prefer?
What type of books do you prefer to buy in book form rather than Kindle?
What is one language you would love to learn and why?
What is your favorite board game?
One trait/characteristic/thing that you wouldn’t change about yourself and why?
Which is more important: what you say or how you say it? Explain.
Do you think some of the fanatical fans are preventing you from being taking seriously as an actor?
Do you think there should be better laws (either U.S. or internationally) to protect individuals from having their personal life exposed?
What do you think should be done about cyberbullying and stalking through social media?
Can you live without technology (ie. cellphone, Ipad, laptop, etc.)?
I’m sure while discussing over questions and answer I would have so many more questions or discussion over his answers.
oh my gosh I love your questions! I love that there were some of yours that were similar to mine. You make me feel smart! 🙂 Great thinking there, Kim.
I would completely sign a NDA because there are so many questions I would want to know his real opinion of too.
I can totally see him being able to get by without technology. He can’t use a microwave! haha! But seriously, he seems like a guy who is just very laid back and as long as he had a way to stay in touch with family, he’d be fine, and books still exist.
Here are some more I thought of to add to the list:
If you could rule the world for one day, what would you do?
If you could go back in time, what year would you visit? Why?
If you were to write a book about your life, what would it be called?
What’s the most important thing about you?
Ok, I need to be your assistant when you interview him. I don’t know what I could do, but I would LOVE to be there. 🙂
(Hope RL has gotten better. Sorry.)
Great questions ladies! I’d love to know the answers to those.
